Uses for • Giving students an overview of a new subject • Introducing yourself as the teacher for their course • Add a short clip to a PowerPoint presentation to spice it up. • Giving step by step instructions about how to follow a process • Marketing the subjects you teach • Getting your students to create a PowToon if they don’t like speaking in front of a crowd

  3. Free Limited Edition • Do a search in your browser for PowToon and click on the link to sign up for the free version. (or) You can purchase an upgrade for more features.

  4. Access the CIT Teacher accountor ask your institution to get one • Go to: http://www.powtoon.com/toonup/ • Sign up for an account with your CIT email address (make up a simple password) • In the payment box, type in this coupon code: TOONUP243 • The payment amount due will revert to zero. There is no need to enter any credit card info. • Each teacher account includes 30 individual student accounts as well and will last for one year.   • It isn’t very expensive to buy an individual account if you decide you like PowToon

  5. How to get started • Go to www.powtoon.com • Choose the TUTORIALS option and watch • Click on the EXPLORE tab to watch some examples • Click on DASHBOARD To • Then follow the instructions on the following slides

  13. Change the text effect and preview

  14. Click on unwanted text or images and delete

  15. Click on slide 2 and edit.To insert a photo of yourself, click on image edit and you’ll be able to browse and upload

  16. When finished editing text and images, you will need to adjust the timing

  17. Adjust timing • Click on text that you want to time • With your cursor move the blue bar to the right to make the text appear on the screen after 2 seconds After you make a timing change you can preview it
