Hair Shaft The hair shaft is made of a hard protein called keratin and is made in three layers. This protein is actually dead, so the hair that you see is not a living structure. The inner layer is the medulla. The second layer is the cortex and the outer layer is the cuticle. The cortex makes up the majority of the hair shaft. The cuticle is a tightly formed structure made of shingle-like overlapping scales. It is both the cortex and the medulla that holds the hair's pigment, giving it its color.
Cycle of Hair Growth Hair on the scalp grows about .3 to .4 mm/day or about 6 inches per year. Unlike other mammals, human hair growth and shedding is random and not seasonal or cyclical. At any given time, a random number of hairs will be in one of three stages of growth and shedding: anagen, catagen, and telogen: Anagen is the active phase of the hair. The cells in the root of the hair are dividing rapidly. A new hair is formed and pushes the club hair (a hair that has stopped growing or is no longer in the anagen phase) up the follicle and eventually out. During this phase the hair grows about 1 cm every 28 days. Scalp hair stays in this active phase of growth for two to six years. The Catagen phase is a transitional stage and about 3% of all hairs are in this phase at any time. This phase lasts for about two to three weeks. Growth stops and the outer root sheath shrinks and attaches to the root of the hair. This is the formation of what is known as a club hair. Telogen is the resting phase and usually accounts for 6% to 8% of all hairs. This phase lasts for about 100 days for hairs on the scalp and longer for hairs on the eyebrow, eyelash, arm, and leg. During this phase, the hair follicle is completely at rest and the club hair is completely formed. Pulling out a hair in this phase will reveal a solid, hard, dry, white material at the root. About 25 to 100 telogen hairs are shed normally each day.
“Alopecia” is a medical term which simply means “hair loss.” Alopecia does not referto one specific hair loss disease. Androgenetic Alopecia, however, is the #1 cause of hair loss. Androgenetic alopecia can cause an experience in hair loss as early teenage years.- For men, this type of baldness is typically characterized by hair loss that begins at thetemples and crown. The end result may bepartial or complete baldness. - Women with androgenetic alopecia usually have hair loss limited to thinning at the front, sides or crown. Complete baldness rarely occurs in women. The majority of women with androgenic alopecia have diffuse thinning on all areas of the scalp. Men, on the other hand, rarely have diffuse thinning but instead have more distinct patterns of baldness. Some women may have a combination of two pattern types. Androgenic alopecia in women is due to the action of androgens, male hormones that are typically present in only small amounts.
Most Common Cause of Hair Loss is DHT How DHT Shrinks and Kills your Hair! Testosterone is converted to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) by5 Alpha Reductase (5AR)Enzyme. DHT attaches to the androgen receptors on the hair follicle. DHT causes increased hair loss; gradually miniaturizing the hair follicle. This miniaturized hair follicle eventually dies and hair loss occurs.

Multi-Therapeutic Approach for Hair Wellness Our first step is to block Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), named as the most common cause of hair loss. Each program is designed to block DHT internally and externally with 8 natural ingredients that promote healthy hair growth. A medical questionnaire is used to discover causes of hair loss and the individual program for treatment. All programs are supervised by the doctors and medical staff that engineered them. All Natural Program w/Laser:For those who do not want to use Minoxidil. Complete Saw Program w/Laser:Most common program for male and female pattern hair loss. Scripts Complete Stops DHTfrom Killing your Hair Scripts Complete harmlessly binds to Androgen Receptors on your hair and stops DHT from binding to hair follicles and shrinking/killing your hair. With less DHT binding to your Androgen Receptors, your hair starts to grow and resumes the normal cycle of hair growth. As less and less DHT binds to your hair, it has the chance to grow into a strong healthy hair. Small hairs can grow bigger and your dormant hair can start to grow again.
The Scalp Is The Foundation Of Hair Health Scalp Therapy breaks up and dissolves sebum. After Scalp Therapy has hydrated the outer layer and dissolved the sebum, growth serums like MGT (Maximum Growth Therapy) and Minoxidil penetrate down to the dermal papilla. Remember, growth serums only work at the dermal papilla level, not on the scalp, so if it can’t penetrate it can’t work to re-grow hair. Shampoos and conditioner are free from harmful SLS & DEA, reducing inflammation that is associated with thinning hair, building hair with body and brilliant shine. Because of the improved delivery system, the amount of MGT or Minoxidil needed was significantly reduced (by 50%) to 1ml daily. After Scalp Therapy Before Scalp Therapy
How Did We Improve Minoxidil? In the market place Minoxidil is 70% alcohol, causing irritation and 3 to 5% in strength. Our treatment is improved with carrier lotion and Saw Palmetto Berry Extract, known as the natural DHT blocker. 5% Minoxidil w/Carrier Lotion 5% Minoxidil w/5% Saw 10% Minoxidil w/5% Saw 15% Minoxidil w/5% Saw Double-blind clinical studies on the Saw Palmetto Berry Extract have shown it to be effective in nearly 90% of the patients usually in 4-6 weeks. Detailed toxicity studies from clinical trials, indicate the saw palmetto extract is without side effects. MGT is the natural alternative to Minoxidil, the best natural topical treatment with 11 DHT blockers
What is Laser Hair Therapy or LLLT? Five distinct effects are known to occur: 1. An increase in ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and protein synthesis – causing an increase in osmotic cellular function 2. Improved cell proliferation (growth) 3. Increase in protein synthesis, causing a change in cell membrane permeability 4. Increased blood circulation by 54% after only one treatment, providing a supply of nutrients to the hair follicle 5. Clinically proven to increase the size of the capillaries under the hair follicle LLLT is defined as “a cool laser that effectively stimulates the area and causes an increase in blood flow and causes Photobiostimulation.”. Photobiostimulation (PBS) is the biochemical, non-thermal effect that results from the exposure of living tissue to various dosage of energy at varying wavelengths emitted from low level lasers. All 5 of these reactions affect hair growth!!

We Chart Your Progress! Check-Ups Are Critical: Every month we would like to see you, but it is very important on months 1, 3 and 6. Month 1 – we need to see that the program is working – we should notice a cleaner scalp. Month 3 is important, because if treatment is not working as aggressively as you would like, we can modify your program to get you quicker results. You are going to see results under the scope before you see them in the mirror, and seeing results keeps momentum high, which keeps compliancy high. We will take digital photographs every 3 months.
How Long Will It Take To See Results? Everyone is different! That is why each client’s individual needs are determined during our medical consultation. Most people see hair loss slow or stop in the first few months and then some hair regrowth in the first 2-4-6 months. However, some people require between 6 months to 1 year to see results. Best result are generally seen in the first 12 to 24 months, therefore, we recommend 1 year programs for most people. If you are not seeing the results you want at 3 or 6 months, we can easily adjust your program to include other treatments like higher strength Minoxidil and/or added laser.
Treatment Upgrades: If at any time during your check-ups, typically at the 3-6 month mark, you feel like you would like to upgrade your treatment program for better results, a consultation can be scheduled with our doctor. The following unique prescription compounds are available: Increase Minoxidil to 5% with Saw Minoxidil 10% and 10% with Saw Minoxidil 15% Liquid or Gel Increase the Number of Laser Visits Add MGT Topical DHT BLOCKER, Nutrients and Conditioner Men can add Propecia or 1.25 mg Finasteride
