History Of Radiology Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen discovered x-rays, “x” as for unknown, and was spread throughout the world by January 6, 1896 but the potential use for x-rays was unknown. The first time the x-ray was used was on December 22, 1895. Wilhelm made the first x-ray on accident when he was working with Crookes-Hittorf vacuum tube in his laboratory at the University of Wurzburg, Germany.
How Radiology has changed Society Before radiology doctors did not know exactly where the patient would need to be operated on if they had a broken leg or arm. Then they would have toperform surgery on a large part of there body to findthe bone that was actually broken.
How radiology impacted society Radiology put a strong effect on society because it is used everyday in the medical field to help look at someone's bones without actually operating on them.
Why I chose this topic I chose this topic because I never knew how someone came up with the idea of radiology. Then when I knew a little information about it I thought it was funny how something so important that doctors use every day was created on accident.
