  1. Welcome back, everyone!

  2. And now… • 60 seconds of silence for roll!

  3. So, what WAS the best thing you did over break? • Turn and tell the person next to you!

  4. One new thing • With some new people and a break, we want to make sure we know the people in our ensemble and feel comfortable with them. • We are going to play “Connection Bingo” for the last 5 minutes of class for the next two days. • You can only win prizes if you have your game board, so don’t lose it!

  5. And now, it’s time for…

  6. Name that legend! A drama game show.

  7. Who was… • The first actor

  8. Thespis!

  9. Who was… • The man who reinvented acting to be more realistic

  10. Stanislavski!

  11. Who was… • The most famous playwright of all time, who wrote “To be or not to be”

  12. William Shakespeare!

  13. Who was… • The man who wrote “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Evita,” “Jesus Christ Superstar,” and “Cats”

  14. Andrew Lloyd Webber!

  15. Drama Legends • We are going to be doing a project about Drama Legends and Modern Innovators. • You are going to draw a legend’s name today during class, and that will be the person you are responsible for researching.

  16. Drawing of Legends • I am going to come to your desk, and you are going to pick one name. • When we are done, you will have 90 seconds to trade with a classmate if you would like to.

  17. Record • When I call your name, tell me what theatre legend you have. • While I am doing this, the legends worksheet will be passed out.

  18. Your project • You will look up the person you have been assigned online or in Ms. Horn’s personal drama library after school. • You will answer the 5 questions about your legend on the paper.

  19. What will we do to be graded • Cross out number six. • Instead of re-writing the questions into a paper, you will be making a poster of your drama legend’s life and legacy. • This poster should have their name, date of birth (and death), what they did for theatre, and a picture. • Your poster needs to be the size of at least 2 pieces of paper (or half a poster board).

  20. When is it due? • This project is due 1/28. • That day, I will collect • Your completed Legends Worksheet • Your poster

  21. Later that week… • You will be acting like your person during a Drama Legends Party, and your classmates will be guessing who you are. • We will talk more about this as the project due date gets closer.

  22. Any questions?

  23. To review • Drama legends project • 1 completed Legends Worksheet • 1 poster • Due 1/28 • Use the computer lab or Ms. Horn’s library as a resource (available after school)

  24. Connection Bingo • 5 minutes today!
