  2. There are two kinds of numbers in ABC: exact and approximate. • Sometimes it is not necessary to calculate an exact number • An estimation is often good enough….

Exact: Exact numbers are the result of computations where the result can be computed exactly: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and some exponentiations. • Estimate: A number that is close to, but not exactly equal to, the actual answer to a problem. • An estimate is also referred to as an approximation or approximate answer • Approximate values affect the accuracy of answers
