  2. What is a noun? A noun is a person, place, or thing…or idea. A pronoun takes the place of a noun. What is a pronoun? What is a direct object (un complemento directo)? The direct object receives the action of the verb. It answers what? or whom? receives the action of the verb.

  3. Por ejemplo… verb Direct object Subject noun The quarterback throws the ball. So, what is a direct object pronoun (un pronombre de complemento directo)? The direct object pronoun takes the place of the direct object.

  4. A ver…with what can we replace our direct object? verb Direct object Subject noun The quarterback throws the ball. The quarterback throws it. Direct object pronoun Subject noun verb *In English, the direct object pronoun (DOP) comes after the verb just like the direct object (DO)…pero en español

  5. En español the DOP comes before the verb. I speak Spanish. Yo hablo español. DO DO Yo lo hablo. I speak it. DOP DOP
