Hardware requirements • Suggested platform should work on: • PC (running on any kind of OS) • PDA (both wireless and post-data upload) • Tablet PC • Mobile technology (SMS,WAP, GPRS, 3G) • Web and E-mail • Telephone interviews • Multi-platform custom devices specially designed for surveying • A combination of the above most of the times! • Must satisfy customer’s needs about mobility; Main database should be hosted on a distributed database outside the central premises, accessible at any time from anywhere using strong security

Software (Analysis) • As mentioned, the software can also export the data to the qualitative analysis software NBISC has, namely NVivo7 (ex- NUD * IST) • The company would have to upgrade to the latest version, since the last implementation of NUD * IST was in 1999. • STRATEGY’s suggestion is for the company to upgrade it’s qualitative research software to NVivo7.   10. Legal Aspects • NBISC needs to abide with certain regulations, namely 21 CFR Part 11, Good Manufacturing Practice, Good Laboratory Practice, and Data Communications Act • COMPANY NEEDS TO BE LEGAL! • STRATEGY can guide the company in getting its accreditation

Miscellaneous Requirements • STRATEGY will provide any training needed • Regular updates – Lifetime! • STRATEGY will share reliable business information sources it has under its hood as well as mutually promote NBISC to its own clients • A high-standard template to be used with client reports • Parallel transition will not affect current systems

Estimated costs • Software – Database and licences • Awaiting quotations from VoxCo • Hardware • Distributed database hosting - £6000 ppm • PC - £5000 plus extras needed • PDA/PocketPC/Palmtop - £1000 • Mobile Telephony Gateway - £600 ppm plus carrier costs • UK Government Legal accreditation - £8000 every year • These are Guestimates!
