Who is Required to Complete the LAMP? • All degree programs beginning in June 2002. • Due in MGS office 2 weeks prior to the scheduled Exit Interview. • Certificate Students do not create a LAMP Portfolio but do have an Exit Interview.
Purpose • Beginning in June of 2002, the Graduate School instituted the Life Assessment Ministry Philosophy (LAMP Portfolio). The purpose of the LAMP is to implement truth and learning into the life and ministry of the student. • Graduation Requirement
What is a LAMP? • It is a binder of information that is a summary of your MGS educational experience. • It contains • Practice of Ministry Assessments • Life & Ministry Philosophy Paper • Doctrinal Summaries • Belief and Practice paper • Internship Evaluations
Doctrinal Summaries • Each student should be able to articulate the major issues of the nine major areas of Systematic Theology in a written summary. Scriptures should be included to support convictions.
Doctrinal Summaries cont. 1. Bibliology - Revelation, Inspiration and Inerrancy, Canonicity, Illumination 2. Theology Proper - Trinity, Attributes of God 3. Christology - Deity of Christ, Humanity of Christ, The God-man - meaning and importance, Virgin Birth, Kenosis, Life - Baptism, Temptation, Resurrection, Present Ministry 4. Pnuematology - Deity and Personality of Holy Spirit, Regeneration, Indwelling, Baptism, Sealing, Filling
Doctrinal Summaries cont. 5. Anthropology - Creation vs. Evolution, Image of God, Christ - Ideal Man, Dynamic and Definition of Sin, Imputed Sin, Inherited Sin, Personal Sin, Sin unto Death, Unpardonable Sin, Dealing with Temptation, Ancestral Sin 6. Soteriology - Election, Redemption, Reconciliation, Propitiation, Deliverance from Slavery to Sin (Rom. 6), Extent of Atonement, Provision for Cleansing through the Cross (1 John 1 - 2:21) 7. Belief and Practice Paper (Revision of paper submitted in Practice of Ministry) • Final Life and Ministry Philosophy paper • Statement of Faith – one page or less, summarizing your doctrinal belief (Including areas where you differ from MBI statement of faith) Internship Evaluations • Field Instructor’s Evaluations • Student’s Evaluation
Exit Interview Process • The Exit interview is approximately a 1 hour face to face interview with the program head professor or a professor assigned by the program head. • If you are not local it will be conducted by telephone. • It includes • Discussion of your LAMP Portfolio • Program specific Exit Interview Questions • Exit Interview Assessment of MGS
