  3. The Mario Kart Series • Is an 8 part series that started with: • Super Mario Kart (1992) • Mario Kart 64 (1997) • Mario Kart Super Circuit (2001) • Mario Kart Double Dash (2003) • Mario Kart Arcade GP (2005) • Mario Kart DS (2005) • Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 (2007) • Mario Kart Wii (2008)

Game Play • Is a racing game that contains 16 different tracks • 4 types of racing: Grand Prix, Time Trial, Versus, and Battle mode • The game contained 8 characters: Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Princess Peach, Wario, Yoshi, Toad, and Donkey Kong • The game also contained 3 different difficulty levels based on the different engine sizes: 50cc, 100cc, and 150cc

  6. Significance • N64 sold 32.93 million units worldwide • Was a popular console that provided many kids with wholesome games such as Donkey Kong 64 and Mario Kart 64 • Nostalgic value such as blowing in the cartridges like a harmonica in order to get the dust out of the cartridge

  7. Mario Kart 64 Stats. • Had an average score of 87% by 6 major game reviewers • Mario Kart 64 sold 5.5 million copies in the United States alone • Sold over 9 million copies worldwide

  8. Genre • This game is considered a racing game but I see it as much more. • A major part of the game is the ability to use weapons against other players • There is a whole racing mode devoted specifically to battling your friends which makes it clear that weapons are a crucial part of the game

  9. Enemies • This is one of the few racing games that offers enemies that pop out at you while you are racing • Some of the enemies include: • Bats • Boo • chain chomp • Crabs • piranha plant • Snowmen • Monty moles.

  10. Memories • One of the best multiplayer games of all time • The ability to duel your friends as well as being able to race them at the same time • They offered special maps for the battle mode which offer friendly competition between you and your friends • The memories aren’t even just based on the game but also the console and the other games it had to offer
