Sourcebook Entry: Thinking in Metaphor • Reread the incident involving Demby and Mr. Gore on pages 28-29. • Examine the list of trigger words • Choose one word from the list that could act as a metaphor for Demby’s blood (pg 29) • Compose a statement identifying your using metaphor using a “because” statement. • Add 2 sentences of commentary explaining how your metaphor is an apt comparison. • Your response will be assessed on how well you explain and support your metaphor and use support from the novel.
