Goals of Summer School and Summer Programs • To provide high quality curriculum, instruction, and assessment • To support students as they prepare for future coursework, state assessments, or completion of required academic standards • To offer a variety of opportunities for enrichment both academic and extra-curricular • To reinforce learning in language arts, mathematics, promotion courses, credit recovery, and credit advancement • Overall, to assist students in acceleration of instructional needs and to gain enrichment thereby ensuring the opportunity for students to reach their highest potential
Middle School Academic Program (MAP) Performance Data Focus: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies • 42 students were enrolled • 58 total courses were needed for promotion • 40 courses were completed successfully • 27 students completed courses needed for promotion • 15 student were unable to complete courses needed for promotion

2013 Technology Camps Individual Sports: Techno Camp was offered for students in Grades 1 – 8 providing students the opportunity to challenge their creativity using the Lego Education Robotics products. , Diving Students learned to design, program and control fully-functional Lego models. They used software to plan, test and modify sequences of instructions for a variety of life-like robotic behaviors. They learned to collect and analyze data from sensors, using data logging functionalities embedded in the software.
2013 Summer Sports Camps Individual Sports: Tennis, Wrestling, Diving Sports camps were offered at BNHS and NHS in various areas of team and individual sports. Enrollment totaled 1,871 students. Athletic Camps: • Softball • Baseball • Volleyball • Basketball • Football • Soccer • Tennis • Wrestling
2013 Fine Arts Camps District-based Fine Arts Camps were offered with over 100 students in participation in addition to many campus-based Fine Arts programs. • Music Theory Prep • "Make it Big, Make it Small" • Broadway Bound • First Steps in Music Day Camp • First Steps in Music Day Camp • Ukulele & Drum Camp • African Drumming • Mallet Madness! Exploring instruments through children's literature. • Choir Boot Camp • Music Makers
2013 Summer Science Camps • Summer Science Blast Off was offered at Hatfield with successful enrollment with an enrollment of over 200 students between 2 camp dates provided. • Camp Invention was offered at Beck Elementary with an enrollment of over 70 students.
Goals Achieved • Provided Elementary Enrichment in Math, Reading, Problem-based Learning, Science, Technology, Fine Arts, and Athletics • Recovered Credits and Instructional Gains • Growing participation in Enrichment Camps • Continued provisions of opportunities for students to accelerate learning • Online Registration and Electronic Payment System

Endless Possibilities… • Encourage and increase enrollment in EOC Test Preparation courses • Extended elementary academic enrichment camps throughout the summer • Expanded District-based and Campus-based Fine Arts Camps in Art, Dance, Theatre, and Music • Continuous options of Sports Camps • Continued provisions for Science Camps • Increased opportunities for students to grow and achieve!!!
