  17. “What happens if I’m absent?”Get the notes from your classmates and the worksheets front of the classroom labeled with the course and day of the week. There is also a calendar available with each day’s agenda. For example, if you are a chemistry student and you were absent Wednesday, you would go to the box labeled “Chem Wednesday” MRS. ROY DOES NOT DISCUSS ABSENCES DURING CLASS TIME. Do the work at home or see me before/after school. If you missed a test, quiz, or a lab because of your excused absence, inform Mrs. Roy and arrange a time to make up the test outside of class time.IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE UP ABSENT WORK. Mrs. Roy will not hunt you down to do so.

  18. “What happens if I’m tardy?”You will not get credit for the warm-up and receive a negative point on class dojo.Meeting with your coach or getting something from your locker is NOT an excused tardy.

  19. “What happens if I cheat?”You will receive a ZERO.  That is a definitive period!COHS does not tolerate cheating, nor is it tolerated by any other part of society. You wouldn’t want me to cheat on grading your assignments, resulting in you not receiving the credit you deserve for all your hard work, would you? Let’s make a deal for neither of us to cheat!

  20. “What happens if I don’t do well on my exam?”Sometimes we don’t understand the materials the first time. It happens to everyone, even Mrs. Roy! This class isn’t about learning how to take tests; we are learning science! If you do not perform as well as you wished on an exam, you will have the opportunity to retake it. You may retake a exam up to 3 times, but you will not receive your retakes back.In order to retake an exam, you must demonstrate that you have made an effort to re-learn that material. This can be done by receiving help from me outside of class, completing a designated worksheet, or by submitting test corrections with explanations. See me for these procedures. You may become be ineligible for this privilege if you have an unacceptable amount of negative behaviors logged on class dojo.
