HP Labs Multimedia Analytic Platform Howard Ho, BirzhanNurimbetov, Nick Pfister, and Alec Turner Advisors: Prof. Jan Allebach and Prof. Edward Delp Current Progress Application Description Face Unlock • Multiple set-up screens • Buttons that allow the user to • navigate through set up process • Front facing camera is launched • Picture preview shown on screen • Contact with server Interface Layouts • The application provides an alternate method to unlock an Android device • The user follows a set-up procedure to enable Face Unlock and save a picture for verification • When powered on, the user is prompted to take a picture of themselves using the forward facing camera • The image is then sent to an HP server which will use Face Verification software to compare face to stored image • If face is verified with the stored image, the device will be unlocked Further Development • Set Face Unlock as default function when phone is turned on • Receive confirmation from server
