  2. Condizionale • used to: • describe what you should or would do • describe what would happen in a given situation • express desires and requests in a polite way • equal to English: would/should + verb

Condizionale • The present conditional is formed by using the FUTURE stem and adding the conditional endings. • For example, COMPRARE • the future is COMPRERÒ • the stem of the future is COMPRER- • we take the stem and add the endings for the conditional: ei, esti, ebbe, emmo, este, ebbero • Verbs that are irregular in the future, are irregular in the conditional. p. 301

  4. Drill, in gruppi – put in the “io” form • parlare prendere mangiare • mettere andare avere • dire bere fare • essere passare scrivere • preparare giocare vedere • suonare stare piacere • volere potere dovere • sapere venire capire
