Information On Liposuction Las Vegas • Dr. Stephen Miller is one for the few area plastic surgeons who is certified to perform both tumescent and ultrasonically assisted liposuction in Las Vegas. The tumescent, or traditional, method of lipoplasty is best utilized for under the chin, in the thighs, hips, knees, calves and buttocks. • Ultrasonic liposuction is often used in conjunction with traditional lipo to obtain a finer result.   5. Liposculpture Procedure: • Tumescent Technique– through a tiny, strategically placed incision a narrow cannula is placed underneath the skin. The cannula is used to inject monitored amounts of fluid to help loosen the fat cells. The cannula is then manipulated back and forth in order to break up the fat cells and vacuum them out. • Ultrasonically Assisted Technique– through a strategically placed incision a specialized probe is placed underneath the skin. This probe uses sonar waves to melt the fat and then extract it. UAL leaves less bruising than the tumescent technique however it requires larger incisions. This technique is not indicated for all areas of the body.

Lipoplasty Recovery & Aftercare: • Patients may experience some degree of bruising, swelling and tenderness. • You will be placed into a form fitting compression garment to help keep the swelling to a minimum and expedite the healing process. This garment should be worn for about six weeks following surgery. • Bed rest the day of surgery is recommended. • Limit activity for the next two days following surgery. • Avoid strenuous activities for about four to six weeks. • Return to work in about one week.
