DEFINITION • Merriam-Webster Dictionarydefines roller coaster as “an elevated railway( as in an amusement park) constructed with sharp curves and steep inclines on which cars or carts roll.”
10. OLYPMPIA LOOPING • This roller coaster is located in Munich, Germany amusement park. This roller coaster has 5 loops and these 5 loops are represented as the Olympic rings. The track length is 4,101 ft, the highest drop is 99ft, and the maximum speed achieve 52 mph. The entire structure weights 900 tons.
9. RIDDLER’S REVENGE • Riddler’s Revenge is located at the Six Flags Magic Mountains, Valencia, CA. It has 6 inversions and holds the record for the most inversions. It also holds for the highest drop at 146 ft, longest track 4,370 ft and highest speed at 65 mph.
8. ALPENGEIST • Alpengeist is located in Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, VA. This roller coaster also has 6 inversions. It is currently the world’s tallest and fastest full- circuit inverted roller coaster. There’s a 170 drop, 106 vertical loop, and a high-speed curve.
7. PRYRENEES • Pyrenees is located in ParqueEspana, Shima, Japan. This coaster also has 6 inversions. It is the world’s best inverted roller coaster. It is currently the longest and tallest inverted roller coaster ride at 4,048 ft long and 148 ft tall.
6. THE INCREDIBLE HULK COASTER • The Incredible Hulk coaster is located at the Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL. This roller coaster has 7 inversions. There is a drop that is 105 ft, a cobra roll, and a vertical loop. Watch out, this roller coaster is very “INCREDIBLE”.
5. KRAKEN • Kraken is located at Sea World Orlando in Orlando, FL. This coaster has 7 inversions. It has one of the longest tracks in the southern United States and the rides lasts 2 minutes. Kraken was also the first floorless roller coaster in the south when it opened in 2000.
4. KUMBA • Kumba is located at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, FL. This coaster also has 7 inversions. With seven inversions, Kumba is not for the faint of heart. After a 135 ft drop, riders can expect a 114 ft vertical loop that wraps around the lift hill-apart from the Riddler’s Revenge the only one to do so.
3. MONTU • Montu is located at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, FL. This roller coaster also has 7 inversions. Montu, is an Egyptian-themed roller coaster ride. This was once the world’s tallest and fastest inverted roller coaster. The highest drop is 128 ft and the riders reach a maximum speed of 63 mph.
2. DRAGON KHAN • Dragon Khan is located in Salou, Spain. This roller coaster has the 2nd most inversions which is 8 total. It’s inversions were a world record upon the park’s opening in 1995. Dragon Khan has a 125 ft vertical loop and a 141 ft drop, followed by a diving loop.
1. COLOSSUS • Colossus is located at Thorpe Park in England. This roller coaster holds the world record for having the most inversions-ten in all. Colossus stands 99 ft tall at its apex and reaches speed of 45 mph at its fastest.
