  2. Easter is a symbol of new life. In England it happens on the first Sunday after the first full moon in spring. It is dedicated to Jesus Christ resurrection. Easter marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. In The name Easter comes from Eostre. It is the name of the Saxon Goddess of spring.

  3. You can see here the symbols of Easter. Before the holiday people paint eggs and on Easter Sunday they exchange chocolate eggs. Long ago some people believed that the Earth appeared from a gigantic egg.

After church services many people like to walk in their new Easter hats and suits. This colorful procession of people dressed in bright new spring clothes is called the Easter Parade. Look! Here is our Easter Parade!

  12. The three most important days are Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. On Maundy Thursday a king or a queen give money to poor people. It is an old English tradition. • - On Good Friday people eat fish instead of meat. They also eat special hot cakes with across on the top. They call them hot cross buns.

  14. On Easter Sunday people eat a traditional roast dinner with lamb, potatoes and vegetables.

  15. Children like Easter very much because it is a tasty holiday. All the families color eggs and put them into green, yellow and pink baskets .Next morning children are busy with hunting eggs and chocolate Bunnies. They play funny games and sing English songs.

  16. So, English people have a lot of traditions. We live in Russia, so we are Russians and orthodox people. Our Easter will be soon. We congratulate you with this holy and light day. We wish you to meet it with joy and hope! Happy Easter!
