  2. Workshop outline • What proposals would you like to share with your Presbytery as a result of this event? • What are some ways we can communicate a message? • How can we be engaging? • Plan and practice your presentation

What proposals would you like to share with your Presbytery as a result of this event? • Plan a mission fair presenting Presbyterian World Mission Programs, other mission GAC agencies (PDA, PHP, SDOP), and mission programs from the congregations within the Presbyteries • Recruit volunteers from congregations to form a network of mission advocates • Form a network of churches interested in missions • Organize clusters of churches engaged in mission • Plan elder gatherings • Challenge each congregation to be in relationship with at least one mission co-worker

What are some ways we can communicate a message? • PowerPoint presentations • Storytelling • Posters • Group of friends at a home • Mission survey • Skit • Reading children’s books • Photos (worth 1000 words) • Skype a mission worker • Song • Articles and newsletters • Web sites • Email • Poem • 3-D • Sermon focused on mission • DVD • Five minutes: justification, description, motion

What are some ways we can communicate a message? • Examples • Jigsaw puzzle for a financial campaign • Assortment of gifts for a Presbyterian Heritage Campaign • Play dough for the 100th anniversary celebration • Be aware of the possibilities to engage • As many senses as you can: sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell • As many learning styles as you can: auditory, visual, hands-on learning • As many intelligences as you can:

  6. Plan and practice your presentation • Plan a 5 minute presentation • Audience: presbytery meeting • Components: justification, description of the project or program being proposed, motion to be approved by the presbytery • Practice your presentation • Present for the whole group
