  1. Future Content Networks Breakout Session T. Zahariadis Synelixis J-D. Meunier Thomson N. Niebert Ericsson P. Daras CERTH/ITI D. Williams BT J. Bouwen Alcatel-Lucent

  2. Meeting Minutes • Keynote Speakers • Incremental & Visionary Scenarios • Mini-groups questionnaires • 40 forms were returned • Areas of interest: • Network Architecture/Home Networks • Immersive 3D Experiences • Content Streaming • Content Searching • Who will pay??

  3. Mini-groups • Mini-group 1: Content Streaming & Socioeconomic • Chair: J-D. Meunier • Mini-Group 2: Teleimmersion Experience & Future Network Architecture • Chair: Th. Zahariadis, P. Daras

  4. Content-Centric Internet Architecture Service/Media Protects Is Used Information/Adaptation Is Used Is Extracted Security/Privacy Evolutionary Is Used Is Used Content Supports Infrastructure

  5. Autonomous Layer-less Object Architecture (ALLOA) Object Execution/Handling Environment Revolutionary Anything that a human can perceive with his senses (a speaking person, a violin, a tear on your cheek, etc.) How the Environment affects the Object (Discovered, retrieved, casted, adapted, delivered, transformed, presented ) Object Media How the Object affects the Environment Rules Object to Objects Interaction (Refer to time, space, synchronisation issues) Behaviour Relations Meaningful description of the object. Characteristics Interoperability/Federation ???

  6. Other Key Results • Federation is key • Interoperability and backwards compatibility are and will be a key parameters • Trust, Reputation and Privacy should be inherent in the network architecture • Content Platforms and Service Platforms may boost Future Internet • Evolution Architecture is closer to what we may expect in the next few years • Autonomous Layer-less Object Architecture (ALLOA) could be the Internet Revolution

  7. Next Steps • To investigate how FCN can enable FOT Platforms in a multi-domain environment (entertainment, teleimmersiveness, smart living, smart health, smart transport, …) • To define in details the Content-Object “elements”: Media, Characteristics, Rules, Behaviour, Relations • To describe concrete examples of how the ALLOA (“Autonomous Layer-less Object Architecture”) can fulfill the visionary scenarios requirements • To move from functional requirements of the incremental and visionary scenarios to system requirements

  8. Relevant Conferences • CHORUS: MultiMedia Search Engines Brussels, Belgium 26-27 May 2009 http://www.ist-chorus.org/conference.asp • 16th IEEE/ACM Int. Workshop on Systems, Signal & Image Processing (IWSSIP) Chalkida, Greece 18-20 June 2009 http://www.teihal.gr/iwssip09 • 2nd IEEE/ACM Int.
