Actions • Action 2.1. Selection of existing or virtual reference buildings • Action 2.2. Environmental performance assessment of reference buildings • Action 2.3. Comparison of results and study of the influence of the use of the Code of Practice • Action 2.4. Definition of a common baseline for assessment methodologies
Reference buildings • 1st phase: Start with ‘easy’ exercise: simple volume – one material CUBE • 2nd phase: complete building: FUTURA House 3 versions of same building • 3rd phase: virtual redesign of FUTURA House apply recommendations
Assessment of CUBE • Fixed parameters: dimensions, material (reinforced concrete), energy demand, … • Assessment: very divergent results! • Different assumptions (volume, electricity type, percentage of steel, …) • Various sources of basic LCI data • Other sets of result indicators
FUTURA House • Basis for calculations: Futura House – EMPA demonstration project • 3 structural types considered: wood, brick, concrete • Basic data available through EMPA, details set by WP2 partners
