Importance of Plan • Required for future DHS grants, particularly PSIC funds • Aid in steering of GEMA funding • GEMA funding will focus on initiatives established in plan • Your input is essential in establishing these initiatives • Identifies goals to increase communications interoperability • Serves as roadmap for future initiatives
Major Tenets of Plan • Georgia Interoperability Network • Gateway system to create an interoperable foundation statewide • Regional Radio Systems • e.g. Atlanta UASI, Chatham/Effingham, Northwest GA, etc. • All Hazards Councils • Key forum for regional and statewide interoperability efforts
CASM • Communication Asset Survey and Mapping (CASM) Tool • Provided by DHS • Inventory of communications equipment across the state • GTRI will be gathering information through 2008 • Allows multiple views of available interoperability
Schedule and Deadlines • August 13-16 • Conducted focus group sessions • December 3 • Final “plan for plan” due to DHS • 2008 • Continue development of the plan
