  4. Location • Williams Bay, WI • The shores of Lake Geneva (Geneva Lake)

  5. History • Had its beginnings as a YMCA and leadership camp with a mission of educating students in body, mind, spirit and service. • Became George Williams College in 1933, starting with the college campus in Hyde Park, IL and then moving to Downer Grove, IL. • The Downers Grove campus closed in 1985 with the Social Work program being absorbed by Aurora University. • GWC became affiliated with Aurora University in 1992, and merging the two institutions in 2000. • GWC was a campus offering graduate programs and adult degree completion programs for returning adult students. • In Fall 2012, GWC accepted its first class of traditional undergraduate first year students since its beginnings in Hyde Park.

For Transfer Students to George Williams College • Students with an associate of arts/science degree, 60+ hours, or the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI) will only be required to complete IDS 2040 Global Justice • Students with 30-59 hours will be asked to take one of the second year IDS courses (IDS 2020 orIDS 2030) and IDS 2040. • Students with less than 30 hourswill be required to meet all General Education requirements. • There will not be transfer equivalencies offered for the new IDS courses.
