Ti Martin Klaproth History • Titanium was discovered in the United Kingdom in 1791 by a geologist named William Gregor. He gathered some sand near a creek and discovered it was magnetic. After scientific investigation he realized it was part Iron, and also a metal who’s properties had not yet been recorded. • Later, Martin Klaprothnamed Titanium after the Titans of Greek Mythology.
