Ukadiche Modak RECIPE

INGREDIENTS • FOR Dough • 1 cup rice flour • ½ tsp ghee • 1 cup Water • FOR Filling • 1 cup Desiccated coconut • 50 gm jaggery chopped • Ghee for greasing • FOR Garnish • Jaggery as required • Saffron as required
In a saucepan, add an equal quantity of water and rice flour. • Mix well and set aside in a bowl. • Add ghee and make a soft dough. • For the filling, heat a separate pan.
Add the desiccated coconut and chopped jaggery; mix well and set aside. • Coat the moulded dough with the ghee. • Roll the dough into little balls. • Place them in the modak mould with the fillings; shape them into a modak.
Steam the modaks in a steamer for about 5-6 minutes. • Set aside in a serving dish. • Garnish with the jaggery and the saffron.
