  1. Portaportal is a web based bookmarking utility that lets you store links to your favorite websites online. Now your bookmarks are no longer limited to any one computer. Portaportal

  2. Web Site Type www.portaportal.com in the address box

  3. Create an account Click the Signup button

  4. Complete form; click Join Portaportal

  5. Success!!! Click on the appropriate button Click to begin

  7. Creating Categories Click to create categories to organize your favorite sites

  8. Add Categories Add as many or as few categories as you need; you can add others later; click Add Categories

  9. New Categories Now you can add and delete favorite web sites to your account Important button; Saves time

  10. QuickLink! Button Clicking QuickLink! opens this window.

  11. QuickLink! Window This window allows you to add to your favorites by scrolling to the category, giving the site a name, and copying and pasting the URL from the open site. Then just click Add Item. If this doesn’t work,

  13. Adding sites to Portaportal • Go to File on Menu bar • Click New Window • Duplicate of current window appears

  14. Adding sites • Type address of site • Click Enter • Portaportal remains open • New site appears

  15. Adding sites • Highlight new address • Copy • Return to Portaportal— by clicking item on task bar

  17. Adding sites • Paste the URL • Name the site • Caution: remove one of the http:// • Click Add Links

  18. Test for success • Click the refresh button • Site appears in list

  22. Changes • Check this window to keep Portaportal open when searching the internet

  23. Guest Access • Scroll to allow guests to view listed sites; provide guest with user name • Click Change

  24. To use • Click on any site to visit • Portaportal remains open

  25. Next log in Type in your user name and password and click Log In
