Boston Chapter- History & local professional technical activities • Boston Reliability Chapter • Located in IEEE Geographic Region 01 • Established as a chapter in 1960, we are starting our 53rd year! • Now joint with New Hampshire and Providence, Rhode Island • Monthly technical meetings: 8 held from September to May, including: • Annual Past Chairs Dinner Meeting: December • Joint meetings 2x per year with NE-ESDA (Northeast ESD Assoc.) … & SMTA • Open to members & guests! (~ half of those attending are IEEE members) • Advisory Committee(AdCom) • Develop meeting material, coordinate meeting & facility arrangements • Report into the Boston Section, Reliability Society & IEEE • Currently have 10 active members

Thoughts for meeting success • Meeting planning & logistics • Choose any good speaker, for reliability • Manage the speaker • Get the abstract, then assign the date; Tell 5pm or 5:30pm, not 6pm • Keep all times the same: presentations & AdCom • Require registration • Advertise to individuals: at work, personal contacts, local colleges • Make meetings accessible • Provide “refreshments” (food, beverages, dessert)
