Client Information • Our client is Intel Corporation • Founded in 1968 • To build semiconductor memory products • Mission is to be the leading building block supplier to the worldwide Internet economy. • Intel supplies chips, boards, systems, software, networking and communications equipment, and services that comprise the "ingredients" of computer architecture and the Internet. E N S C R Y P T
Sponsor Information • Harlan Mitchell • Software Engineer, Components Automation Systems, Chandler • Creates software to control the tools that manufacture semiconductor memory products • NAU grad Spring 1997 E N S C R Y P T
Background • A specialist in the automation world is responsible for designing software to control manufacturing tools. • SECSIMPro is the standard software created by GW Associates that is used by many companies to compile SECS Message Language (SML) and SECS Script Language (SSL) files to be used in the testing of these tools. E N S C R Y P T
Project Information • Client needs a fast and efficient way of creating SML and SSL files for testing their hardware. Currently, too much time is spent on handwriting the scripts • This will reduce the time in creating these files and reduce the knowledge necessary for writing SSL files E N S C R Y P T
Problem Statement ENSCRYPT will develop a graphical application for Intel to assist in the creation of SML and SSL files. E N S C R Y P T
How this helps the client? • Will help produce SML and SSL scripts easier, more efficiently, faster, and without having to have expert knowledge on script syntax • Focus primary interest on more profitable tasks • Intel will gain profit that would far exceed the cost of developing the tool E N S C R Y P T
Core Requirements • Develop for Windows NT and 2000 • Easy to use Graphical User Interface • Allow users to create SML and SSL files easily • Allow new messages to be added with changing technology • Not take up excessive memory • Be relatively fast E N S C R Y P T
Functional Requirements • Load messages from a predefined location • Allow users to create SECS Message Language (SML) files • Allow users to create SECS Script Language (SSL) files • Allow users to save SML and SSL files • Allow users to enter newly produced SML messages E N S C R Y P T

Project Phases • Phase One • Team Formation, Initial Client Interaction • Phase Two • Requirements, Proposal, Early Design • Phase Three • Design, Early Development E N S C R Y P T
Project Schedule E N S C R Y P T
Milestone Overview • Project Proposal December 14th • Func. Spec. Document January 31st • Prototype Complete March 1st • Project Completion April 2nd • Capstone Presentation April 26th E N S C R Y P T
Challenges and Risks • Cost of informational/educational material • Learning SECS Message Language (SML) • Learning how to use SECSIMPro • Avoiding licensing issue for SECSIMPro • Obtaining varied sample scripts from client • Person to person visits • Ability to complete all milestones on time • Creating what the client wants E N S C R Y P T
Conclusion After collecting the requirements and evaluating the possible challenges, team ENSCRYPT is confident that this project will be a success. E N S C R Y P T
