  1. 5 Reasons Business Don’t Hire Security Guards (And Why They Should!) Security is a Priority Most business owners know that security is an important part of any company’s success. However, there are a myriad of reasons they may choose to put security on the backburner. Whether they think they don’t have time in their busy schedule or they’re banking on the fact they haven’t yet had a security incident, many businesses are unprotected. Don’t make the mistake of not prioritizing security because the fact is, it should be your number one priority. 1. They think security services are too expensive. Many business owners assume that paying for security services is simply beyond their budget. Often, this assumption is a costly mistake. If you think you can’t afford to hire a security guard through a third-party security firm, you really won’t be able to afford replacing all the stolen equipment or damaged products at an unprotected site.

  2. Set aside room in your budget for security. While you may feel the investment upfront is a small burden, you’ll prevent yourself from experiencing a much larger one resulting from a break-in or vandalism. 2. They assume their business is safe. Sometimes, companies think that since their business has never experienced a security issue before, they will be fine in the future. Unfortunately, this line of thinking isn’t effective. Just because an intruder hasn’t targeted your site yet doesn’t mean they won’t soon. Crime rates are always in flux, and there’s no guarantee that your business’ neighbourhood won’t be next in line for a rash of crime. 3. They don’t see the relevance of security guards. If you’re honest with yourself, are you entirely sure what a security guard does? Some business owners don’t think about hiring guards because they don’t know how they can help them. A little research can go a long way! Don’t deprive your business of all the benefits of a security guard. Consider the fact that guards not only patrol your premises but can also escort visitors to and from their vehicles, provide directions, and offer fire-watch services. 4. They handle security themselves. Being invested in your own security strategy is great! However, don’t pigeon- hole your security plan. Utilizing an outside security party means you’ll get an extra set of eyes to look over your security needs. It’s easy for anyone to keep implementing a security strategy they’ve had for years. Unfortunately, some criminals may identify loopholes in that long-held plan. Trained security guards have industry knowledge and extensive experience to develop a comprehensive security plan that's constantly evolving. 5. They are too busy.

  3. If you own a business, you’re likely used to a full schedule. Some people think that they just don’t have the time to sit down and carve out a security strategy, even when they know they need one. The beauty of a third-party security firm is that they handle all that work for you! Of course, you’ll be able to add your in-put and give updates about any security issues you’ve noticed, but security guards can do all the legwork for you.
