Any person who sends to another person a: • Electronic Communication • Letter • Or Item Of Any Description Which is: • Indecent, Offensive, Abusive • Threatening • Information Known Or Believed To Be False In order to cause distress or anxiety. Is guilty of this offence under the Malicious Communications Act 1988

  3. What Is An Electronic Message ? • Text Message • Picture Message • Video Message • Voice Note • Phone Call • Voice Mail • Bluetooth

  4. More Electronic Messages ? • Instagram • Whatsapp • SnapChat • Facebook • Twitter • Any Type of Messenger • Video Calling • Live Broadcasting • Email • In Game Play

  5. Basically Anyway You Could Possibly Send A Message Without Being Stood In Front Of That Person Face To Face.

  8. Malicious Communications Is A Criminal Offence.You Can Be Arrested For It.

  9. An Example A student by the name of Liam Stacey tweeted about Fabrice Muamba the Bolton Wanderers footballer who suffered a heart attack whilst on the football pitch. "LOL. F*** Muamba. He's dead!!!" Liam Stacey then went on to send a number of other offensive posts aimed at other twitter users who challenged him. After Liam Stacey was arrested and interviewed he was released on bail with conditions not to use any social networking sites. When Liam Stacey was found guilty at court he was sentenced to 56 days in prison.
