Shadow By Ryan Johanson
Grant me leave to see your fluid form for what it truly is. In darkness you cower out of sight, yet break of day compels you to return
Bidden to march in from the West you face the morn’ with innocent resolve and strength. No challenge is too much to bear, for you retain the fresh convictions of your youth. The journey is just begun, your will is bent, your long and slender frame seeks the East.
With time you come to know the ways of life. The sun will drag you on towards your goal. The sidewalk frames the absence of your being. You ripple over cracks and tufts of grass. And now you shrink below me, shade yourself beneath this growing man.
Companion, you must follow now behind: I’ll shrink away and you will stretch beyond the limits of my vision.
