I. Verbos impersonales: solo se conjugan en tercera persona del singular. La mayoría indica fenómenos atmosféricos o naturales.
a. llover (llueve): Llueve mucho hoy
diluviar: diluvia; nevar: nieva; tronar: truena
haber: El verbo haber, se utiliza para conjugar formas compuestas. Ej: he comido, hube escrito.
II. Verbos bipersonales: sólo se conjugan en la tercera persona tanto del singular como del plural
gustar: Me gusta la lluvia
Me gustan las manzanas
3. Usually the translation of these verbs to English is not literal (that is in English many of these verbs do not use an indirect object):
Me gustan las manzanas
Apples are pleasing to me (Literal translation not really used in English)
4. Although it is possible to conjugate these verbs in all the persons, they are most commonly used in the 3rd person singular or plural depending on: a. the object, b. person or c. action that is pleasing, displeasing, lacking, needed, interesting, impressive, etc.
Nos falta dinero.
(money=subject ; 3rd person singular)
Te molestan los políticos.
(polititians=subject ; 3rd person plural)
Os interesa ayudar.
(ayudar (the action)=subject ; 3rd person singular)
5. The: person that likes, dislikes, needs, lacks, is interested, impressed, etc., is expressed by the Indirect Object Pronoun.
Nos falta dinero.
(we are lacking)
Te molestan los políticos.
(you are bothered by)
Os interesa ayudar.
(you all are interested in)
6. Algunos verbos defectivos asustar (to frighten)
aburrir (to be boring)
disgustar (to be unpleasant)

(to be enchanting/delightful)
enojar (to cause anger)
enfurecer (to infuriate)
faltar (to be lacking)
fascinar (to be fascinating)

7. Gustar/no gustar used with a person as a subject has the meaning of being attracted to
Me gusta Carlos. (I am attracted to Carlos)
Gustar/no gustar used with food or drinks as the subject has the meaning of liking the taste.
Me gusta el chocolate.
(I like (the taste of) chocolate)
8. Caer bien/mal used with a person as a subject has the meaning of liking someone because of their personality or actions
Me cae bien Carlos.
(I like Carlos. (He is a nice person))
Caer bien/mal used with food or drinks as the subject has the meaning of how the food sits with you (in your stomach).
Me cae mal el chocolate.
(Chocolate does not sit well with me (I have an allergy.))
9. Caer bien/mal can ONLY BE USED with a. persons, b. foods or c. drinks as a subject.
GUSTAR should be used with any other nouns or verbs as a subject to express what one likes.
Me gusta la clase de español porque me cae bien la profesora.
A Carlos le gustan los cuadros de Picasso.
A ti te gusta escuchar música mientras haces la tarea.
10. Remember that most defective verbs express a feeling of opinion so you can use the subjunctive in the second part of the sentence:
-A mi me enfurece que tú no conserves el medio ambiente
Nos gusta que ustedes patrocinen a los niños humildes
