AND • Combining two or more words. • Narrowing the search. • Increase the accuracy of the search.
OR • Combining two or more words. • widening the search. • Helpful when searching for synonyms
NOT • Combining two or more words. • Narrowing the search. • Exclude unwanted words. • Increase the accuracy of the search.
Quotation Search " " • More accuracy when searching for exact phrase. • Reduce false relation between the words • Narrowing the search. • Helpful when searching for names or places.
NEAR • Like ANDbut more accurate. • Retrieves records where the terms joined by the operator are within a specified number of words of each other. • Reduce false relation between the words. • Helpful when searching for Sentences or places. • It doesn't sort words. All words have the same value. • NEAR is not common and most search engines doesn't support it.
Complicated Search (Brackets) • More accurate results. • Narrowing the search. • Helpful when searching for three or more words.
