  1. FUEL SAVING TIPS FOR TRUCK DRIVERS

  2. Introduction Since fuel prices have soared across the globe there is a dire need that we, as a community, be more vigilant in terms of fuel-saving. As Surrey’s most well-known truck driving school, we encourage you to take steps towards making our environment more green and clean.

  3. Improve Navigation One of the best ways to improve fuel efficiency is to improve your navigation techniques, this includes improving routing and delivery schedules. Your business may be losing out on crucial time and cost if it currently operates without GPS or route optimization software

  4. Limit Your Idle Time According to Natural Resources Canada, If drivers avoided idling by just three minutes a day, over the year Canadians would collectively save 630 million litres of fuel and more than $630 million in fuel costs.

  5. Use Cruise Control To maximise fuel efficiency, controlling your engine’s speed is important. On long trips, cruise control can help maintain a constant, cost-effective, and secure speed.

  6. Don’t Go Over The Speed Limit Not only is speeding unsafe and increases the risk of an accident. There’s a reason why there are speed restrictions in place. They are there for drivers’ safety as well as to aid with fuel efficiency, which is especially important for truck drivers.

  7. Monitor Tire Pressure Make sure the tire pressure on your truck is maintained properly. Not only does this significantly increase fuel efficiency, but it also extends the life of your tires.

  8. Conclusion The vast majority of people today make considerable efforts to protect their environment. We believe it’s essential to understand how to save fuel when driving a truck.
