  2. What it is ? • Is inflammation of the pleura. • The pleura is a membrane that helps with the respiratory system. • But if left untreated it could possibly collapse a lung.

  3. How do you get it? • Pleurisy is a common complication of several different medical conditions, the most pervasive being a viral infection of the lower respiratory system. • If you have had this infection before you are susceptible to receive it again.

  4. How it affects the system • It affects the system by making it difficult to breath. • But if left untreated it could possibly collapse a lung. • The reason why it makes it difficult to breath by the two layers of your lungs rub together which can cause discomfort or pain

  5. Does the body try to fix itself • In a way yes it does but with Pleurisy the immune system needs help with anti-biotics to help fend off the infection.

  6. what medicines do you need to take • Doctors say treated with analgesic and anti-inflammatory drugs, such as acetaminophen, ibuprofen. • There are some instances that if you have a painful cough you take codeine-based cough syrups.

  7. Is Pleurisy curable • The answer is yes from what study's have shown. • But the body would need help from antibiotics.
