  2. What is #Twitter?(https://about.twitter.com/) (Image from Twitter) Twitter is a technological platform that can be used as a Professional Learning Network (PLN) by teachers in order to create and share resources or ideas. Tweets are used as a form of expression for users, and can contain text, photos, videos, or emojis. “Millionsof Tweets are shared in real time, every day.”

  3. Why Learn the #Lingo?(https://about.twitter.com/) # There are numerous reasons to tweet; to share meaningful moments and ideas, to create and explore resources, or to share photos and videos. By knowing how to communicate online, users can better develop their networks by engaging in meaningful interactions with others # Hashtag: Hashtags are used to place emphasis or assign a topic to a Tweet. Users can choose followers and discussion by searching for tweets with desired hashtags. Retweet: Retweets allow users to share their favorite posts with their own followers, further developing their network. ✭ Favorite: Favoriting tweets lets the author know you enjoyed and valued their post. Reply: Commenting on others’ posts allow users to engage in conversation and develop connections.

  4. My #Development@_Emilyroche When I started my PLN Twitter, I was nothing but an egg. No one to tweet, no one to follow, no one to favorite... I was so blue.

  5. My #Development@_Emilyroche But now that I’ve developed my PLN and connected with others... I: Have 31 Tweets, Follow 238 Others/Am Followed By 39, and Have favorited 22 posts!

  8. A look at who I #Follow Some of my favorite hashtags to search and follow include: #edchat #teachersleading #k12 #ntchat #specialneeds #lrnchat #elemchat #ipaded #teacherswrite #edtech #teaching #backtoschool #edtechchat

  9. A look at who I #Follow@Classdojo I chose to follow the @ClassDojopage because the operators of the page often tweet interesting and relevant resources or ideas, and often include hashtags that I find the most interesting. This page can be used for both student and teacher mLearning, and “can help students develop the behaviors and skills they need for success!”

  10. A look at who I #Follow@Weareteachers I follow @WeAreTeachersbecause I can rely on them to post daily tips and advice for teachers and students. I value their motto that “Supporting kids means supporting educators, always”. The resources and ideas provided by this page has definitely contributed to my confidence in teaching and my feeling supported.

  11. A look at who I #Follow@Edutopia @Edutopia is a page where teachers can find numerous articles, resources, ideas, and conversations related to the world of teaching and education. They don’t only just post their own ideas and resources, but they also favorite andretweettheir followers posts for everyone to see and share. When I visit the @Edutopia page, I feel a sense of community. It’s not just a group promoting it’s own ideas, but it shares everyone’s ideas in order to help build connections, support, and networking opportunities. I value the diversity of their posts. They have posts that include pictures, videos, websites, freebies, downloads, etc. They also focus on the broad spectrum of grade levels for education, making this resource valuable to me as both a student and a teacher.

  12. My #Conclusion:#loveit I have found the experience of using Twitter as a Professional Learning Network to be not only valuable, but also very insightful and enjoyable as well. I have made valuable connections with people across the world who share similar interests and ambition as I do. I’ve began to accumulate resources and ideas for use in my own future career while teaching in the elementary school classroom I will definitely continue to use and develop my PLN as I continue into my teaching career. I would also recommend Twitter to other teaching professionals who are looking to enhance their support, networking, friendships, and resources.
