Program Overview • Program Goals: • Provide SMA exposure to project and instrument managers through rotational assignments in the SMA Directorate (Code 300) • Foster collaboration between Flight Projects, AETD and SMA Directorates • Program Methodology: Similar to ongoing JPL and SELDP programs, the program will include developmental assignments within Code 300 supporting flight projects, instruments and launch operations • Target Participants: Flight project/instrument/systems managers and engineers • Program Advisory Board Members: Maria So (Chair), Rob Sticka (Co-Chair), PradeepSinha (Program Manager), Eric Isaac, Mike Delmont, Mike Kelly, Cindy Fryer, Mark Goans, John Wolfgang and Ed Amatucci • Management Commitment: Have agreement between Director’s of for detailing Project/Instrument/Systems Managers in Code 300

Program Status Program Development: • SMART Process • Application Process, Candidate Selection and Assignment • Program Initiation and Performance • Program Completion • Program Responsibilities • Advisory Board and Program Manager • Applicant/Mentee, Mentor and Supervisor • Support Staff • Program Elements • Position Descriptions • Rotational Assignments • Performance Plan and Reviews • Enabling Training • Program Handbook • SMA Functions • SMA Competencies • Training Curriculum • SMART Web Site Pilot Program Implementation: • Mark Hubbard in the program as Deputy CSO for JWST/ISIM • Working Three other Candidates to Code 300 as SRM, SAE and RE • Other applicants did not meet requirements • SMART tied to SELDP, SEED and PMDE Full Implementation Key Actions: • Increase assignment and program flexibility • Focus on nominations from flight project management and engineering pool
