  2. FunFact I went to Elsinore Elementary and was promoted from EMS (then EJHS). I also attended EHS before moving to Oregon to finish my education.

  3. Elsinore Middle School Has new math textbooks! • As we are piloting the CPM textbooks, we will have a limited supply of physical copies of the text. However, every GEMS student will receive password and login information to view the textbook at home. If you do not have access to the internet at home, please let me know and we will make the appropriate accommodations. • Practice and discussion are required to understand mathematics. When your child comes to you with a question about a homework problem, often you may simply need to ask your child to read the problem and then ask what the problem is asking. If they are still struggling please try one of the following questions: • What do you know about this part of the problem? • Explain what you know right now. • What do you need to know to solve the problem? • Can you draw a diagram or sketch to help you?

  7. Classroom Supplies Large Three Ring Binder Binder Reminder Pencil Pouch Pencils, Erasers (mechanical pencils are okay. Make sure you have extra lead) Dry erase markers Colored pencils and or pens (for notes) Highlighters Glue Stick Scissors You may buy an inexpensive calculator to use at home to check your work.

  8. Grading Policy Chapter Tests 50% Quizzes (Group Tests) 25% Homework/Classwork 25% The Measure of Academic Performance (MAP) End of Course Exam will be used. A passing RIT score is 230. A course grade of A, B, or C and a RIT score of 230 will ensure that a student moves to the next mathematics course.

  9. Parent/Teacher Expectations Lessons are based upon state Common Core Course 3 math standards. Jupiter grades updated weekly on Friday Bi-Weekly grade summary (on request) Available (call school 951-674-2118 or e-mail faith.bass@leusd.k12.ca.us) Parent conferences scheduled as needed
