CERN Safety: Who is Responsible? • Everyone present on CERN’s site, i.e. staff, members, and contractors alike • CERN Site Managers • CERN Work Supervisors • Individual Operators M. Arnaud, C. Bedel, J. Etheridge, E. Paulat
Safety Coordination Legal Basis • SAPOCO 42 stands for the Safety Policy • CERN Committee and deals with Staff Rules and Regulations in matters of Safety • European Directive EEC • Laws and Regulations of both countries M. Arnaud, C. Bedel, J. Etheridge, E. Paulat
Who are the Health and Safety Coordinators? M. Arnaud, C. Bedel, J. Etheridge, E. Paulat
How does the Safety coordination operate during a Shut Down period? • All work, tests, interventions, must be: • Planned: Intervention Scheduling (NO access) • Covered by an (ADI / AET) signed by EN/MEF. • Prepared with procedure and fiche de tache • Authorized including, AET, VIC, ALARA, DIMR, consignations, hot work permit, IS 37 etc. • All documentation respected. • Lack of rigor and discipline will result in incidents and accidents at the worst, but will also cost us time and money. M. Arnaud, C. Bedel, J. Etheridge, E. Paulat
Good working collaboration • Respect the rules and regulations in force • Comply with the training you have been given • Inform your supervisor if you have a problem • Contact us if you need help we can only help if we are informed • No information = No collaboration M. Arnaud, C. Bedel, J. Etheridge, E. Paulat
