Mockup #2: “Collection Showcase” End User: liaison librarians, faculty Need: Liaison librarians update faculty about things JMU has acquired in their academic subject / with their fund Message: JMU Libraries is buying appropriate items for disciplinary collections Notes: • Focus is on showcasing JMU-acquired resources • Librarian customizes default query parameters • User can change values for query parameters

Why must we choose? • Millennium: inventory control system aspects • Fund codes • Call number range searching • Date added to collection • Only JMU-acquired resources • EDS / Discovery • Expanded universe of sources • Fund codes, call number ranges not inherently useful • Dates = publication date, not date added to collection • More likely to have “popularity” features • Don’t try to make your car be a dishwasher.
