Full Speed IST project • To obtain an USB smart card with USB Full Speed Capabilities • The product is based on an ST22 chip (ST Microelectronics) • The project is funded by European Union (IST Project) • IST project is a group of 6 partners with SLB as Coordinator • IST Project includes Product and Application

Full Speed Outputs • Applications : • Document signature supporting non-repudiation (Phase 1) • Video streaming (Phase 2) • Coordination with Philips and SUREY. • Core system: • Dual ISO / USB support • 32 bits secure chip with 64k E2PROM • Java Operating System 2.2 • Common Criteria EAL4+ platform Validated by T-Systems • Backward compatibility (chip or connector deployment) • Secure PinPad / Biometrics (option) • USB On The Go

  9. Our role in Full Speed • Designing and developing host and device system SW APIs and driver • Developing testing and measurment tools for the new smart card • Developing demonstration applications

MOBIVAS IST Project • Thales (France) as coordinator: • University of Athens • Technical university of Berlin • ENST (France university) • NEC Germany • UNIS (Brno Czech Republic) • OTE (Greek major telecom operator) • OTEC (OTE Consulting) • Project duration: 3 years (2000-2002) • Total project Cost: 6M€

Our role in MOBIVAS • Core system: • Development of basic system SW (drivers, Linux customization) for the prototype of MOBIVAS mobile terminal • Development of MIDP Java API for mobile terminal prototype • Applications : • Development of streaming multimedia VAS • Development of Location based VAS

Plans for FP6 • Make maximum use of the strong relations between UNIS, which provides world class SW products, developers and a lot of big international partners, and the universities - TUB Zlin, TU Brno, TU Prague, that have a big research experience in many areas targeted by the IST calls. • EOI issued in the area of embedded systems development tools • developing efforts to issue or get get into a project targeted to “Embedded systems” or “Open development platforms for software and serivces” objectives of the 2nd FP6 call
