  1. 16th Edition Testing FAQ Common Issues With 16th Edition Testing

  2. 16th Edition Testing FAQRCD Current • RCD Current Reads Incorrectly1. Please note that RCD current specifications are always positiveand when writing a procedure this must be taken into account. e.g. 100mA range spec. –0% +10% This means the current will be between 100mA and 110mA to write this into a ProCal procedure, the nominal test value should be 105mA ± 5%

  3. 16th Edition Testing FAQRCD Current • Does mains voltage affect RCD current?YES! Many of the older RCD testers are affected by mains voltage. • Solution1. Use a variable voltage mains transformer and set the voltage to the same as the calibrated voltage of the RCD tester.2. Use a formula in ProEdit to compensate for the different in mains voltage.

  4. 16th Edition Testing FAQ5I Testing • 5I Test Does Not WorkMost testers can only work on 5I with a time interval less than 40ms • SolutionSet the 2100 to an RCD time interval of less that 40ms

  5. 16th Edition Testing FAQUncertainty Statements • Uncertainty Statements Do Not Appear On My CertificateProEdit procedures requires a reference to a specific uncertainty statement line (up to 10 can be selected) • SolutionCheck the procedure has a valid uncertainty statement selected, and also check the uncertainty statements using the ProEdit Uncertainty Statements Editor.

  6. 16th Edition Testing FAQInsulation Test Voltage • Insulation Test Voltage Does Not MeasureSome testers output the insulation test voltage, with positive on the black lead. • SolutionReverse the test lead connections to the 2100 terminals

  7. 16th Edition Testing FAQSelecting Test Points • How Do I Select Which Test Points To Use?As a general rule, 3 test points should be used on a range / function covering low, mid and high points of the range.

  8. 16th Edition Testing FAQInformation Resources • Where Can I Find Answers To Common Usability Issues? The Transmille Web Site contains FAQs for the 2100 which includes application notes with details on how to resolve common issues.
