God AND pHYSICS Having a Creation Worldview
Created in God’s image Genesis 1:26 – 27 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all[b] the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
1st Commandment Mark 12:29, 30 29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’[e] This is the first commandment.[f]
2nd Commandment Mark 12:31 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[g] There is no other commandment greater than these.”
Sin? All of creation was punished Gen. 3:14-19 Romans 8:22 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
After the fall • Increased entropy • Depravity of man • Credit for God’s Creation given to Creation not Creator • Romans 1:23
REdemption • Jesus died for us • Jesus died for the restoration of Creation • We study Science (Physics) to uncover God’s Glory • We study Science to proclaim God’s Glory
science • Knowledge gained from observations of the natural world • Nature of Science is changing • Truth – All Truth is God’s Truth • Absolute • Revealed • Not Yet
Physics • Mechanics • Kinematics • Dynamics • Statics • Electromagnetism • Thermodynamics • Quantum Physics
Scientific Methodology What scientists do
