  2. Welcome We of the Massachusetts Women of Today would like you to join us for a Weekend In New England. We hope this tour of our state will help to convince you that this is the place to be in 2004.

  3. First, let us introduce you to your Massachusetts Chapter hosts…. o Greater Attleboro x Bellingham x x x Chelmsford o Easton x Georgetown x o o x o o Mansfield x Norton

  4. When we say: bzah Hahwahya? khakis pissa retahded shuah We mean: Odd How are you? what we staht the cah with superb silly of course In the way of orientation, it would be a good idea to learn a few foreign words…

  5. It is also a good idea to know something of our dietary laws…. • Boston cream pie is a cake. • Frappes have ice cream; milk shakes don't. • Chowdah does not come with tomatoes. • They're hot dogs. Franks were people who lived in France in the ninth century • Soda is club soda. Pop is Dad. If it's fizzy and flavored, it's tonic. When we mean tonic water, we say tonic water. • Scrod is whatever they tell you it is, usually fish. If you paid more than $6 a pound, you got scrod.

  6. ..and when visiting any new place, one should always examine the geography of the area… • Route 128 is also I-95. It is also I-93. • Southie is South Boston. The South End is the South End. • The North End is east of the West End • The West End is no more. A guy named Rappaport got rid of it one night. • Eastie is East Boston. The East End is Boston Harbor. • Dot is Dorchester, Rozzie is Roslindale, JP is Jamaica Plain. Readville doesn't exist .

  7. Begin Tour… Now that you are a little oriented to our State, let us reveal to you all the wonderful history, sights, and sounds of New England.

  8. Massachusetts is a scholastic haven. We have produced MIT, Harvard, Tufts,…. Jay Leno Raised in Andover,MA

  9. We have also produced many great painters… “Whistler’s Mother” By James Whistler Born Lowell,MA

  10. Our state has been the home of many great literary giants like Emerson,Thoreau,…. Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel) Born Springfield,Ma

  11. Boston is also the home of many famous cultural centers… CHEERS “Where everybody knows your name”

  12. For the sports minded, Massachusetts offers a number of activities like horseback riding…. Paul Revere taking a little midnight ride

  13. …..steeplechase jumping…. Old North Church

  14. ..and for those who love to swim, Cape Cod and the islands have much to offer. “JAWS” filmed On Marthas Vineyard

  15. During your stay, we have chosen some wonderful accommodations… Sheraton Framingham,MA

  16. I hear they have a wonderful local chef.... Julia Child Formerly of Cambridge, MA

  17. ...and the hotel staff is outstanding.

  18. On Friday night we invite you to attend a really wild and crazy party…. Boston Tea Party

  19. There will be lots of fun, games, and you can really get stoned….. Plymouth Rock

  20. But don’t expect any great after party sex… Minuteman (Lexington)

  21. Attend the Saturday morning meetings and observesome fine personal enrichment leadership skills...

  22. A luncheon will be provided, but feel free to explore the native cuisine on your own… Clam Chowdah Toll House Cookies

  23. Late Saturday afternoon is a time to gather up allyour new friends and head for the evening banquet..

  24. We can assure you that our banquets are celebrated throughout the nation….. The first Thanksgiving Anyone for turkey?

  25. Every effort will be made to accommodate members who have special dietary restrictions…

  27. Sunday brings a light buffet and a chance to attend a local place of worship… Salem Witch Museum Salem, MA

  28. Now its time to fly home and time to remember how we bridged the distance between us… Old North Bridge Concord,Ma ..the shot heard round the world..

  29. When it comes to our state, we often get ourselves into a hole with all our bragging …. The “BIG DIG” Downtown Boston Highway Improvement

  30. But we always come back to our senses and stay on an even keel …….. USS Constitution Charleston Navy Yard

  31. So, let us just say goodbye and not get bogged down in sentiment… Cranberry Bog Harvest Second largest producer in US
