  5. Learning is most successful when…. • It is cognitively demanding • Learners have a degree of autonomy • Learners can contribute creatively • Neither teacher or pupil is over-stressed • There are elements of humour and fun

  6. ‘Creative context’ • Task which demonstrate ‘creativity’ will have:- • Variety – the resources you exploit • Experimentation – allow ‘independent’ use of language • Engagement – allow for personal, imaginative or emotional response

  7. Features of higher order thinking skills • Analysis (explain/infer/analyse) • Synthesis (design/create/compose) • Evaluation (Assess/compare/judge)
