Methods of Advertisements • Traditional advertising includes methods such as ads in magazines and newspapers, radio and TV. More recently, website banner ads have become more popular for multiple businesses to get their product known. • For my piece of advertisement I am going to create a page inside a magazine informing my target audience of my chosen bands album release.
Analysis Here is an example of a advert for an Arctic Monkeys album. The page looks very simple, neat and minimalistic. The trade mark symbol which is featured on the bands album and merchandise is presented across the middle of the poster. The colours used are the same scheme of black and white as the album. The repetition of the logo/title will make the poster be seen and remembered more frequently. The low key and simplified layout of this advert is very useful as the viewer can visually see the important bits of information; Artists name, Album Title and release date. I will create an advert very similar to this example however I am going to include a bit more detail for example, reviews and a list of singles from the album. I think this will excited my target audience as they will read my bands song titles and want to hear them, therefore urging them to go out and buy it.
Analysis • Below are a few more examples of adverts for the band Catfish and the Bottlemen. In these images they feature logos, band names, album names, tour dates, album release dates, ratings and quotes/reviews from various organisations like Clash Magazine, The Guardian and musicOMH.
