  3. Epoxy • Strong and very resistant thermoset plastic • Epoxy is resistant to almost all acids and solvents • By adding a hardening agent curing takes place • Flexible or rigid • High heat and chemical resistance among common adhesives.

  4. Disadvantages • Not strong enough against bases or solvents with chlorine content • Overexposure to Epoxy • Skin Inflammation • Severe Irritation • Chemical Burns • Respiratory Irritation

  5. Epoxy Mechanical Properties • Ultimate Tensile Strength • Unfilled 70 MPa • With 30% Glass Fiber 150 MPa • Flexural Modulus • Unfilled 2.5 GPa • With 30% Glass Fiber 25 GPa • Deflection Temperature at 1.8 MPa load • Unfilled 175 °C • With 30% Glass Fiber 200 °C
