Hello to our friends in the Gambia! We were very excited to read about your trip to the crocodile farm. We thought you might like to read about when our youngest children walked to our local farm. We are learning about where our food comes from and about life cycles of animals so we went to the farm to find out some more …..
There are all sorts of animals on the farm - cows, sheep, pigs, ducks, chickens, goats and even pets like guinea pigs and horses.
Here we are stroking a chicken. She had lovely soft feathers! And here we are getting a pig kiss from the pigs in the pig palace!
Ooh! Now I know where milk comes from! We even learned how to milk a cow!
We looked at all the eggs that the chickens had laid. We found out where our meat comes from.
We could stroke all the animals – they are very tame! The horse is called Frankie and he’s really small. We made sure we all washed our hands before we had our lunch.
When we came back to school we painted pictures of the animals we had seen on the farm. Can you tell which animals we painted?
We loved your crocodile joke so here is a joke for you: What goes “oom”? A cow walking backwards! We look forward to hearing from you again soon. In the meantime Goodbye! From your friends at Ecclesall Infant School
