  6. Library and Information management • UniSA Grad Dip & Masters • 2006-7 moved from School of Communication to School of Computing and Information Science • Chair jointly funded SLSA SRO FujiXerox and UniSA • Program renewed

UniSA Library Involvement • Offered Library as a source of experiential learning • Passed some comments regarding relevance of some aspects of the “old” program • SLSA undertook teaching several courses including Managing resources, Preservation and archiving • Library staff to teach cataloguing

  9. P: DME volume unbelievably loud.S: DME volume set to more believable level.

The fun begins…. • Organising Resources covers international standards, descriptive cataloguing, metadata, subject analysis and cataloguing, classification, Library systems, and future trends • 2 other staff “volunteer” to assist • Course is delivered f2f and online. • Student cohort reflects closely staff cohort in age , gender and ethnic diversity

Success • High ratings by students in CEQ • Several students hired by Cataloguing agency (best prepared students they have ever had!) • Workload for students is high • Cursory look at many issues due to jam packed curriculum • Continue to improve course material • 2009 numbers have doubled over 2008 • 125 in Graduate Diploma programs and over 50 in Masters programs
