  1. TTT-Services Herwart WERMESCHER TTT-Services Project Manager herwart.wermescher@infonova.at

  2. Background • TTT-Services has been proposed to the TEN-TELECOM 99 CFP • The project was selected and will start on 1.1.2000 • The following guidelines have been given to the consortium by the EC • Put the focus on the inter-domain service trials • New partners (without funding) are welcome (service providers with their vendors)

  3. TTT-Services Goals Global Database Clearinghouse Trust Service Provider Telcordia (New Jersey) • Test and trial inter-domain IP-Telephony services based on TIPHON specifications • Deployment of a set of services (description in progress) on 22.11.00 Transnexus (Atlanta) Datakom (Vienna) Public IP Network Or IP Network BT (London) Telia (Stockholm) PanTel (Budapest) Telekom Austria (Vienna) MATAV (Budapest) Telekom Austria (Graz) IP Network Tele Denmark (Kopenhagen) Omnitel (Milano) Telefonica (Madrid) Omnitel (Turin)

  4. Work Packages andProject Management Plan

  5. Deliverables

  6. Global services • GIDS • Number translation • Clearinghouse • Inter-domain settlement • Trust Service Provider • Certification authority

  7. Discussed services I • Global IP-Telephony Subscriber Number (GISN) • Each subscriber gets his personal number: +878 00 <assigned number> • Guest Dialer scenario • SCN Terminal to other Terminal (User Dials: +878 00 <assigned number>) • IP-Terminal to other Terminal (User clicks a Web-button) Call will be terminated on a predefined E.164 number • Subscriber Dialler scenario • SCN Terminal to other Terminal (User Dials: <access number> – IVR(access code) – access code – IVR (destination number) – <E.164 number>) • SCN Terminal to other Terminal (User Dials: <access number> – „CLI identifies user“ - IVR (destination number) – <E.164 number>) • IP-Terminal to other Terminal (registered user dials E.164 number) Some of those services shall be deployed on 22.11.00

  8. Discussed services II • Dynamic Call Routing/Call Connection on the ITSP side • Default profile (route to SCN if IP-Terminal is not online) • Web/DTMF configuration possibility for the user • Call forwarding on busy subscriber • Calling Cards (e.g. Prepaid Cards) • Unified Messaging/Voice Mailbox • Audio Conferencing • CLIP, CLIR, … Some of those services shall be deployed on 22.11.00

  9. Global IP-Telephony Subscriber Number GIDS Number:+878 001234567890 can be reached in domain B Domain A Domain B 1 BES BES Resolves Number:+878 001234567890 To Terminal: +43 1 71172516 GK GK 2 3 GW IP Terminal SCN Dials: +878 001234567890 SCN Terminal Terminal number: +43 1 71172516

Dynamic Call Routing/Call Connection Domain A Web 4.1 - User can change rules via Webbrowser and Customer selfcare BES 4 DTMF 3 If user is online: connect to the IP terminal Otherwise: connect through the GW to the users SCN terminal 4.2 - User can change rules via SCN and DTMF 4 GK 3.1 - online Office of the subscriber GW IP Terminal SCN Terminal Connect to the nearest GW GW signals to the GK GK asks the AD-BES 3.2 - offline 2 SCN Subscriber‘s Gglobal Number: +878 001234567890 SCN Terminal 1 User dials: +878 001234567890

  11. Future aspects of Service Roll-Out • Additionally TTT-Services will define a common set of services that is proposed to be deployed by an ITSP for service roll-out: • Describes advantages for the ITSP and the user (e.g. for Unified Messaging/VoiceBox, Conferencing, ) • One Service – several networks: IP Telephony for PSTN/ISDN users, GSM users and IP users (e.g. global number)

  12. Tests and Trials • Steps to establish standardized inter-domain multi-vendor IP-Telephony: • Dialling plan solution (Add dialling plan of terminating gateways that are not managed by this GK); • Standardized multi-vendor GK-GK communication. • TTT-Services Implementation Schedule • Commitment by participating vendors on interoperability to establish tests and trials on time in order to be able to go into service by 22.11.00 • Contains: Dialling Plan Solution, Standardized inter-domain GK communication, security implementation, ...

  16. TTT activities at TIPHON • TTT-Services meetings will take place three working-days in advance of the TIPHON meetings because: • Closely ness to TIPHON specifications • Possibility to influence TIPHON as soon as possible • Several work statements concerning OAM&P, OSP profile, GIDS • The concrete results related to TIPHON of the TTT-Services meeting in San Diego(December 1-3, 99) were: • Contributions related to GIDS behaviour and protocols; • Contribution regarding usage of “Digital Certificates” in the signalling path (Terminal GK), AD-BES to Clearinghouse, AD-BES to GIDS for OAM&P purposes • Contribute on the AD-BES to GK communication for TIPHON#17

  17. Questions Thanks for your participation to this update-session.
