Antecedentes • Need for an algorithm for the testing and virological diagnosis of influenza and other respiratory viruses (ORV) to be used in the Region of the Americas in order to provide guidance to NICs, national and decentralized laboratories. • 2015 - Meeting on Detection and Diagnosis of Influenza and Other Respiratory Viruses • Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico and Suriname • WHO Collaborating Center: CDC • Objectives: • Review the immunofluorescence and RT-PCR data in real time for influenza and ORV obtained by the NIC (2014-2015) • Present and discuss the algorithms proposed for the virological surveillance of influenza and ORV, based on the level and capacities of the network in countries
